About this release

“What You Like” is a hip-hop record by DBOY MHE, produced by Lyrikal TMG and featuring AK of the legendary Chicago group Do or Die. The record was inspired by attraction, confidence, and the chemistry between two people who know what they want. It gives listeners a smoother side of DBOY while still staying authentic to his Chicago roots and sound. The collaboration with AK brings together different generations of Chicago hip-hop, while Lyrikal TMG’s production provides the foundation for a record designed to translate across radio, clubs, streaming, and live environments. Our release strategy is centered on building “What You Like” organically and consistently through independent and college radio, DJ relationships, club rotation, social media content, fan-page promotion, interviews, live performances, and direct outreach in targeted markets. As the record gains radio and club support, we’re using the response and analytics to identify markets where DBOY is connecting and turn that momentum into increased streams, audience growth, media opportunities, and paid performances. Our goal is to continue building recognition around the record while establishing long-term relationships with DJs, radio stations, promoters, and listeners who connect with DBOY MHE and his music.
