About this release

“Say You Love Me” is not only an homage to Y2K, pop music but a nod to malia dishon’s Jamaican roots. “Spending childhood summers in Jamaica with my grandparents helped shape my creativity. Writing the melodies for ‘Say You Love Me’ while there brought me nostalgia and ultimately closer to this version of myself,” malia dishon says. “I wrote this song because I was tired of guys’ actions and words not lining up. So if you’ve ever experienced someone telling you they love you but they’re not putting any action behind it, then this song is for you! Don’t just tell people you love them, show them. Period!” Written by malia dishon, produced by DJ Mello, and mixed by Renegade El Rey, “Say You Love Me” is a premier track from malia’s highly anticipated debut EP, The Star, set to release this fall. With much anticipation for her upcoming project, listeners can expect an EP that is a bold and electric glimpse into malia dishon’s life. She uses each song as an entryway to express her most authentic and vulnerable self. The EP sheds a light of joy on her journey as she fully claims the spotlight in her own life. Stay tuned for more from one of Atlanta’s most compelling new indie artists as malia dishon continues the legacy of the Dungeon Family.
